Fall Celebration
JCP Cares held a Fall Celebration party for autistic children and their families attending the St. Johns County School System and for families served by HEAL (Healing Every Autistic Life). It took place at Plantation Park in Julington Creek Plantation on Sunday, October 27th from 1 to 3 pm. The party-goers enjoyed a bounce house, pumpkin painting, games (such as boo bowling, a skeleton bone hunt, bean bag toss and more), music, face painting, and (the hit of the day!) a lego table. Several organizations set up tables/booths to provide information for families about resources available. Thank you to Project Chance (service dogs empowering kids with autism) http://www.projectchance.com/, HEAL http://www.healautismnow.org/, Joel Pace Piano http://joelpacepiano.vpweb.com/, Kerry Corley Dawley, author and photographer, Carlie's Hero http://www.carlieshero.com/, Origami Owl Jewelry and Zach, the miniature therapy horse from Round Pen Ranch http://www.roundpenranch.org/. Thank you to Mitch and Julia Mitchell for providing the music. A big thank you to Publix for donating the pumpkins and bottled water. And of course the party would have not been possible without the student and adult volunteers who ran the activities. A huge thank you goes out to them.
Chili's Fundraiser & Pub Crawl
Chili's at Bartram Crossing on Old St. Augustine Road hosted a fundraiser for us on Tues. Oct. 8th to benefit HEAL.
We also partnered with the Bartram Trail Rotary Club on their Pub Crawl again this year on Sat., Oct. 19th. All proceeds went to HEAL as well.
Thank you to everyone that supported our Chili's night out and Pub Crawl. It allowed us to raise approximately $1700 for HEAL which will in turn purchase iPads for autism programs in our schools.
