Provides safe place for homeless women to live while putting their lives in order. Many are homeless due to abusive relationships. An older woman and a younger woman with children share an apartment as they learn coping and life skills. Theme: giving a hand up, not a hand out. ASSIST staff work with homeless families and students living without families/guardians. Every school has one or more homeless students.
