Annual Pet Food Drive: April 1st to April 28th

Our Annual Pet Food Drive will occur this Spring. Food is needed for the animal shelters and for individuals with very limited resources to obtain pet food. The elderly in particular are known to give their meager food supplies to their pets, denying themselves a healthy diet. Pet Food will be distributed to animal shelters (Ayla's Acres, Feline Canopy of Care, S.A.F.E., St. Augustine Humane Society, Swamp Haven and Wags & Whiskers. Pet Food will also be shared with local food pantries and to the Pie in the Sky organization that provides produce and canned goods to homebound elderly in St. Johns County.
Host Site Collection locations: Ancient City Gymnastics, Anytime Fitness (Fruit Cove), Bartram Academy, DogTown USA (St. Augustine), Funkytime Fitness, Julington Creek Animal Hospital & Animal Walk, Julington Creek Plantation Rec Center, Kiddie Academy of St. Johns, KinderCare Fruit Cove, St. Johns Libraries (Main Library, Anastasia, Ponte Vedra, Bartram Trail, SE Branch), Ocean Grove RV Resort, Plantation Dry Cleaners (Race Track Rd), Primrose School at Crosswater Parkway, Riverview Club, UPS Stores (Julington Creek, Palencia, Rivertown).

Backpacks for Homeless High School Students Enrolling in Higher Education: April & May 2023

New backpacks with needed supplies and gift cards will once again be provided to the St. Johns County School District ASSIST Program for graduating homeless unaccompanied high school students enrolling in higher education (college or technical school). The backpacks serve as recognition of the students' hard work and accomplishments despite all odds. The backpacks also serve as encouragement as they continue their education goals for a future of greater opportunities and experiences. Each year we hear reports of how excited and appreciative the students are that others care about their accomplishments and goals.
Individuals wishing to donate can do so by accessing the St. Johns CARES, Inc. Backpack Wish List, donate using the PayPal button below or mailing a donation check to St. Johns CARES, 450-106 SR 13 N, #165, St. Johns, FL 32259.
Please note that backpacks and supplies provided are identical for each student, necessitating monetary donations only.
